EDWARD DONOVAN....Pawtucket Victim

" Hello. I started today... knowing very little about the boiler accident that killed my maternal grandfather, Edward Donovan, of Pawtucket Rhode Island.

I just happened to run into a web site;  GenDisasters (http://www3.gendisasters.com/rhode-island/419/newport,-ri-steamer-mackinac-explosion,-aug-1925) when I was trying to find out more about a recent train accident here in Belmont MA.

Once I knew the name of the ship, [Mackinac ] I was able to find your blog.

My grandfather died at 28 years old , leaving behind, his wife Mary, 26 y.o. [ she passed  in 1984]

Also, their 6 month old daughter Patricia was left behind...my mother!  [she passed in April 2009).

Our family had grown up, hearing a bit about the accident, but never many details.

Also I mistakingly thought the ship left from Pt. Judith, RI.  "
